Festive House Plants for Christmas 2023

There's no denying that houseplants are having quite the moment right now and they are literally popping up everywhere – from high profile advertising campaigns to your next door neighbour's living room.

So, how do you choose the right houseplant for you?

Firstly, consider the cactus. With its sculptural form and low maintenance needs, it's a great plant for your first foray into houseplants. They need very little watering and when grouped together, can create a real style statement.

The 1970s favourite – the Cheese Plant (more formally known as the Monstera deliciosa) is also experiencing quite the revival with its retro appeal and glossy leaves. Fancy one for yourself? Why not treat yourself to our large cheese plant that will be delivered in a special box to keep it safe.

If you're looking for a gift for someone who likes the more unusual houseplants, be inspired by the Japanese art of Kokedama which roughly translates as 'moss ball'. Completing doing away with pots, kokedama sees the root ball of plants wrapped up in moss and string to create a unique look.

This wild orchid is a great way to dip your toe into the kokedama trend without having to get your hands dirty.

And of course, with Christmas on the way, a mini festive tree will always be a welcome gift and will let someone know you're thinking of them, wherever you are.
